Elementary Fall Workshop: November 12th, 9:00-3:30

This all-day workshop is open to all elementary teachers in CRMC member systems. Participants will explore activities and strategies to help engage students in learning mathematics. There is no cost for the workshop for teachers from member systems. Click on the Registration tab at left or call 706-568-2480 to register. The workshop will be held in Cunningham 337.

 

Middle Grades Fall Workshop -These Are a Few of My Favorite Things: Lessons from the Five Mathematical Strands - November 10th, 9:00-3:30

This all-day workshop is open to all middle school teachers in CRMC member systems. Participants will have the opportunity to explore activities and strategies for engaging students in algebra, geometry, number and operations, measurement, and data analysis and probability. Click on the Registration link at left or call 706-568-2480 to register. There is no cost for teachers from member systems to attend this workshop. The workshop will be held in Cunningham 337. This workshop is open to pre-service teachers at CSU. Pre-service teachers may register for a portion of the workshop if necessary.

 

High School Fall Workshop – November 17th, 9:00-3:30

This all-day workshop is open to all high school teachers in CRMC member systems. Participants will explore a variety of activities and strategies to approach topics. Emphasis will be on providing teachers with multiple options to address content while engaging students in learning mathematics. There is no cost for the workshop for teachers from CRMC member systems. Click on the Registration tab at left or call 706-568-2480 to register.

 

The Population Connection - Links to Mathematics: November 12, 5:00-7:00 PM

This workshop, targeted towards grades 6-12 will provide ready-to-use lessons related to population. You can, enrich your mathematics class by including applications that reach across disciplines; learn to use a variety of value-neutral classroom activities to teach population concepts and environmental trends to your students; participate in workshop activities, including a video, quizzes, simulations, cooperative learning activities, problem solving challenges, and other experiential learning strategies;receive a newly updated CD-ROM of materials, including the activities demonstrated, answer keys, data sheets, background readings and other resources. Exploring Mathematics through Literature PK-2 - NCTM E-workshop: November 12th, 4:00-5:30

Add relevancy to your math classroom through the use of literature! This workshop, along with a follow-up on January 7th, will offer you an overview of techniques and strategies for using literature to enhance the teaching and learning of mathematics in your classroom. A variety of children's books and sample lessons that can be used with your students will be shared. CRMC will connect to this e-workshop in Cunningham 334. Intriguing Mathematics I've Stumbled Upon: Engaging Content to Enrich High School Classes - NCTM E-seminar: December 15th, 4:00-5:00

Former NCTM Executive Director, Jim Rubillo, will share ideas for using available minutes at the beginning and end of every mathematics class to extend, enrich, and engage students. The seminar will present a collection of interesting settings where important mathematics emerges from contexts that will engage all of your students.
